Weblog engine, wordpress has been update to the latest stable version. Please be patient with me while I change things around to my liking.

Hello people it’s been a while since we talked. The main reason for that is because I want to update this site both theme based and engine based. So lets talk about both of the separate.

Theme

The theme grew old on me, so I would like to change it. The only problem is that I don’t know what I want the new one to look like, so if you have any ideas let me know.

Engine

Wordpress has been good to me all this years and I don’t think I will change it but 60% of the plugins I use do not work and 10% of them have gone off production so they are no longer available.

So I need to decide:

1. Leave the site as is and just write more.
2. Update the theme only.
3. Update both theme and engine with worpdress and making everything work (possible fixing the plugins that need to be fixed).
4. Change engine and theme.

Your opinions are welcome.

Hello everybody, as you can see from the above command there are a lot of pending things in my life.

Most of you will be wondering what the hell is going on. Well you would be right I am kind of lost, and I haven’t update this weblog for a very very long time. Sometimes it seams like years, but it’s only been months (160 days to be exact…) ;). I do try to check the comments and reply to them as often as I can.

Now here are some updates.

This blog

The blog engine has been update to the latest version. There are a few bugs but mostly with the administrative plugins and do not infect the entries.

The plugins

I am in the process of reviewing and rewriting the plugins image2post and current-mood. So now it’s the time to get those comments and improvement requests coming in. Also it would be great if you could report any bugs.

Life

Well there are a lot of things going on right. Most of them are work related. Unfortunately I can not disclose any information so stay tuned and I will give updates as soon as I can.

I know it looks like I am neglecting this weblog. That is not the case, I keep telling my self.

It’s been decided, the theme of this weblog will change. Yes I know I have been saying this for sometime now but now I have a date. That marvellous date is 1st Jan 2007.

So get your diaries, iCals, GCals out or whatever way you use to make note of things and take a note to visit this weblog back on the 1st of Jan 2007. Also note that you might see changes before that in order to get some bugs out of the way. If you would like to see how development is going you can check out my development weblog. Not all changes are made on that weblog though.

So for the next few weeks we have a lot of programming, and you should expect things not to be working as they should ;).

In short the blogging bundle allows you to post, retrieve, and update entries. It can also preview entries before posting, upload images to your blog by dragging them into your document, etc.

I haven’t actually paid any attention to the bundles in TextMate, but now I am going to sit and go through them.

For the interest to those who care both of my plugins (Current Mood and Image2Post) have a newer version that utilises the new javascript functions in wordpress 2.0+ and also adds dimensions (height and width) to the images so that your code will be more valid.

Note: The update is recommeded for all current users of the plugins.
