First off we login to the debian machine we are going to use open a terminal window and gain root access. Then type the following command, make sure you have internet because it will be need to download this packages.

apt-get install openbsd-inetd fortunes-bofh-excuses

Then we are going to open the file /etc/inetd.conf in your favorite editor.

vi /etc/inetd.conf

And add the following line at the end of it.

excuse stream tcp nowait root /usr/games/fortune /usr/games/fortune

Then edit the file /etc/services and put in the line

excuse 666/tcp

Then run /etc/init.d/openbsd-inetd start

Now if you run telnet yourserversip 666 your will get your excuse of the day.

Hello people it’s been a while since we talked. The main reason for that is because I want to update this site both theme based and engine based. So lets talk about both of the separate.

Theme

The theme grew old on me, so I would like to change it. The only problem is that I don’t know what I want the new one to look like, so if you have any ideas let me know.

Engine

Wordpress has been good to me all this years and I don’t think I will change it but 60% of the plugins I use do not work and 10% of them have gone off production so they are no longer available.

So I need to decide:

1. Leave the site as is and just write more.
2. Update the theme only.
3. Update both theme and engine with worpdress and making everything work (possible fixing the plugins that need to be fixed).
4. Change engine and theme.

I wasn’t planning on having a party or anything other than a few closed friends to have some Vodka. Well when I arrived home the same friends surprised me with a cake and of course some Vodka. Anyway it’s safe to say that we had fun…

And on another note who would have thought that after getting my first Apple computer last year, I would end up being an Apple fun and actually owning a desktop 24″ iMac and a new MacBook laptop.

Hello everybody, as you can see from the above command there are a lot of pending things in my life.

Most of you will be wondering what the hell is going on. Well you would be right I am kind of lost, and I haven’t update this weblog for a very very long time. Sometimes it seams like years, but it’s only been months (160 days to be exact…) ;). I do try to check the comments and reply to them as often as I can.

Now here are some updates.

This blog

The blog engine has been update to the latest version. There are a few bugs but mostly with the administrative plugins and do not infect the entries.

The plugins

I am in the process of reviewing and rewriting the plugins image2post and current-mood. So now it’s the time to get those comments and improvement requests coming in. Also it would be great if you could report any bugs.

Life

Well there are a lot of things going on right. Most of them are work related. Unfortunately I can not disclose any information so stay tuned and I will give updates as soon as I can.

I know it looks like I am neglecting this weblog. That is not the case, I keep telling my self.
